I recommend a fine or superfine permanent marker, like the twin tip Sharpie. If you would like us to send you one or more with your order, please again let us know before you order.

The front surface is treated with oil to stop the pen bleeding into the grain.

Please note this is made from natural wood, so may contain small knots (see photo) and other natural patterns and marks from the grain of the wood. On the rear you may also find 'plugs' this is where a larger knots or imperfections in the wood have been replaced by a 'plug' of good wood (see image, this will only ever be on the reverse). We use high grade birch ply and each piece is different and unique. You may also find that due to changes in temperature and moisture in the air during transit it may arrive slightly warped, if this is the case, simply place flat at room temperature with a flat weight such a book on top and it should return flat after 24hrs.
