Here is a very fine folk art red ware pottery charger or pie plate by an unknown Pennsylvania Dutch artist.  It utilizes the traditional sgraffito carved technique from the 18th century but was made in the middle of the 20th century, probably the 1940s or 50s.  Very high quality design and execution. It measures 9.25" diameter and is slightly concave.  Incised mark of a 5-petal flower to back.  Superb condition, no chips or cracks.  Crazing overall to glaze.
