Description: A very attractive example of the first printing of the first edition. Original cloth hardback with the original dustwrapper. 284 pages, plus two page publisher's advertisement to the rear. 7.5 by 5 inches. Top edge green. The dustwrapper has the original 7/6 price to the spine, and is in attractive condition with some wear and creasing (see pictures). The book itself is in very pleasing condition with boards remaining bright (see pictures). Internally very clean and bright (see pictures). Binding sound and square. Free of inscriptions. A very nice example. 

William Aubrey Cecil Darlington (1890-1979) was a British writer and journalist. Alf's button is his most famous work. Alf (Henson) discovers that he has a brass button which, when he rubs it, summons a genie!
