In a departure from his usual Surrealist style, Salvador Dalí (Spanish, 1904-1989) created this series, "Our Historical Heritage" a figurative series of historical Hebrew figures, after moving New York. They feature almost comical renderings, figures with large eyes and bright colors. This etching centers on King David, the third king of Israel.
