A Janis Berard design is always quite special in costuming and design. "Megan" is a Kais full body porcelain doll from the American Artists Collection. (1996) She is a large 23" in height and is a limited edition of 66/1000. Real Glass Blue Eyes and Eyelashes. She is a Breather with open nostrils and mouth. A sough after feature in the Doll collector world. She has a mohair wig in a Beautiful red color and style. Kais hang tag, certificate of authenticity, stand and box. She is hand signed and numbered on the back of the neck by the artist Berard. She signed it to the original collector. (see Picture).She is dressed in Black velveteen with white braid jacket with a huge bow in the back Dress has and many layers of lace. The attention to details is a sign of true workmanship in this design. The lace is beautiful and goes on forever. Her undergarments are silk with lace bottoms pantaloons in white. Tulle skirt with lace white stockings. Ivory Leather shoes with silk and pearl flowers.
MEGAN is all dressed up in a creamy moiré satin dress trimmed with black piping and then 5 rows of ruffled lace at the bottom; 3 rows of lace are 4" wide. The bodice has a cream colored applique on the bodice. She wears a long black velvet jacket all trimmed in creamy piping and lace around the edged. The jacket is flared at the hips with a big lace trimmed bow on the back it snaps in the front. The sleeves are trimmed with faux gold trimmed faux pearl buttons. She wears a matching black velvet bonnet all trimmed with cream piping and cream lace and tied with a cream ribbon. She wears black and white faux pearl dangle earrings. Underneath she wears a cream lace trimmed cream satin slip, a white net slip, then matching cream lace trimmed cream satin pantalettes, cream lacy stockings and creamy leatherette shoes. MEGAN is in excellent condition; no chips or cracks; dress is in perfect condition. MEGAN is Hand signed on the back of her neck #66/1000. MEGAN comes with her stand and her COA, Her umbrella has beads ribbons and feather. Metal bottom.
