Like others of the same kind, many were cut down to size with a circular boarder, and framed either in a round or square frame; this has been roughly cut-down to size and adhered to it's original cardboard backing circa 1920's.
It was removed from it's original damaged square frame during the 1980's and a new circular mount was added.

Frank Owen Salisbury was a conservative hardcore Methodist and a serious portraitist who painted the likes of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Queen Elizabeth II, Winston Churchill and even John Wesley (the founder of Methodism) himself. And yet, Salisbury also painted this beautiful piece or his own twin daughters.

This is a rare-sought piece that doesn't often come up on the marketplace, and when they do they can demand a reasonable price, as the very same 1923 print is being sold on the USA eBay site for $595 - it includes and wonderful frame, but at that price I'm sure I could find the right frame for this at a fraction of the price.
