This is the same cable we make in-house to use with our ID-O-MATIC repeater controllers.
Now we offer this cable separately so you can interface YOUR controller to YOUR Kenwood TKR-720 or TKR-820 repeater.
As long as you have a good working TKR-x20 repeater programmed internally for frequencies and PL and an external *controller, this cable will work properly
If you want a complete plug and play solution, a choose our controller for your GMRS or HAM repeater, see our eBay store for ID-O-MATIC repeater controller

  • Genuine Molex connector and pins - professionally crimped and assembled.
  • Wires in the jacket are genuine stranded (all copper), 48" long
  • Wires are stripped and ready for you to work with to attach to your controller (just as shown)
Wires connected are (TO - IDOM4 green terminal block number):
Black - Ground common (1 or 12)
Red - Positive 12 vdc (up to 1 amp) from repeater to power your controller (2)
Green - PTT (repeater needs active LOW - GROUND to transmit from your controller (3)
White - Transmit audio IN (11)
Brown - De-emphasized audio OUT (8)
Blue -  COR (repeater output is active LOW) (7)
We also provide a (installed) jumper to allow the TKR-x20 internal speaker to operate

NOTE: * your controller should be a REAL controller, NOT one of those cheap Chinese controllers that does not use COR.
Meaning: a VOX repeater system is NOT RECOMMENDED. DO IT RIGHT, use our ID-O-MATIC controller !
What is COR? Carrier (or CTCSS/DCS) operated relay. In usual terms this means that when a VALID signal with the proper PL/DPL arrives at the receiver input, the COR line of your repeater will "change state". In the case of the TKR-x20, the COR line go from a "high" with no signal to a "low" with valid signal.
It is this "change of state" that tells repeater controllers that a valid signal is there to be repeated.

Can we make a custom cable for this repeater? Different length or some additional wires added? |
This is possible for additional cost. send a message ask me what you want different.

Can we make a custom cable for some OTHER radios or repeater?
--- MAYBE ---
BEFORE you ask me, YOU must research your radios or repeater and answer these questions:
1) For TX radio: Are there external connectors on the repeater or TX radio that have Mic hi (audio in) and PTT?
2) For RX radio: Are there external connectors on the repeater or RX radio that have audio out and COR?
3) Are the mating connectors COMMONLY available?
If no to any above, then NO I cannot make a cable
