This is a vintage Japanese hand made ceramic sakazuki (sake cup) also known as a guinomi. It is decorated with kiri (paulownia) leaves and flowers and red calligraphy.   

Its size makes it the perfect sake cup for sipping your evening sake or a very elegant way to sip your evening cordial! Likely a mid 2oth century piece it is in fine condition with no chips or hairlines.  It measures 2.5" in diameter by about 1" tall (6.5 x 2.5 cm).
