Many Code 5 Errors are caused by damaged or failing cables, which degrade and become brittle over time. DISCLAIMER: not all code 5 errors are caused by bad ZIF cables. In some cases, a new ZIF cable may not repair a Zune with a code 5 error (bad HDDs and motherboards can also cause a code 5). Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds in these situations.
