This is an old lapel pin for the Walton High School German Club.  I do not know the metal, but it is not magnetic. The shield is inscribed with a large "DV" in the middle. "Walton High School," on the top, and the sides say Deutscher Verein. The back of the shield is hallmarked "Hadley & Co NY."  The attached torch has a large "W" with no other markings. It could use a good cleaning. Please look at the pictures for more descriptions, including size.
