Fenton Glass was produced in West Virginia, USA between 1905-2011. For more than 100 years, Fenton was the largest manufacturer of handmade coloured glass in the United States. Fenton glass works are renowned for innovative glass colours as well as hand-painted decorations on pressed and blown glassware.

The many different colours were the work of Jacob Rosenthal, a famous glass chemist who is known for developing chocolate and golden agate glass. In 1907, the Fenton company was the first to introduce carnival glass. Other leading collectibles included hobnail glass (with raised spheres on the surface on the glass) introduced in 1939 and milk glass, an opaque glass. Hobnail glass was popular in Victorian times, then, it was called "dewdrop glass."
