Inspired by the Old Masters of painting, Robert Dale Williams sought out rigorous training in classical drawing and painting techniques at the New York Academy of Art Graduate School of Figurative Art.  Following graduation from the Academy in 2004, he furthered his studies under Odd Nerdrum during three summer residencies in Norway.  A semi-finalist in the Art Renewal Center 15th Annual International Salon, Williams has authored two feature articles for International Artist Magazine, and his work has appeared in the critically received compilations of contemporary figurative painters The Nerdrum School and Kitsch: More Than Art.  In 2023 he joined the Continuing Education Faculty at the New York Academy of Art, drawing from his extensive experience as an instructor of drawing, painting, anatomy, and design courses at six art institutions.

Featured in collections worldwide, Williams has exhibited in Pennsylvania, New York, France, Germany, Great Britain, and Norway.
