Oil on panel 26.5 by 21.5 cm - end of the 18th century, - charming boy and girl water carriers at the well. Very much in the manner of Francois Boucher. Nice colour balance. (Boucher also made similar, less risque, genre paintings such as that shown 2nd last picture in the National gallery and also shown 'La petite laitiere' c50cm 344,000 euros).. The skin tones appear mottled because of the very fine craquelure.
