About the Author: Duncan Bannatyne (born 2/2/1949) is one of Britain's best-known entrepreneurs thanks to his TV appearances on "Dragons Den". As he reached 30, he was still living the life of a beach bum in Jersey. Fearing that he was about to become the oldest swinger in town, and anxious to settle down with his then partner, he realised that what he needed to do was to become a millionaire. Five years later, he was one. Having started his business career with an investment of just £450 in an ice-cream van he's now a regular investor in new companies and the chairman of the Bannatyne Group which owns and operates hotels, health clubs, spas & restaurants and he also has business interests in media, TV, and property.
The Scottish entrepreneur & philanthropist was worth approximately £501 Million as of 2020. He is the author of several books (including "Anyone Can Do It", "Riding The Storm", "Wake up and Change Your Life", "How to be Smart With Your Money" and "How to be Smart With Your Time") and was also appointed an O.B.E. for his significant contributions to charity. He has six children, properties in London, the North-East and Cannes, and currently lives in a £3m villa in Portugal with his third wife.
