Toy Working Binoculars
Field Glasses w/ Compass
1950’s Japan Import ~ N.I.B.
These toy
field binoculars work well! The eye span is about 2 ⅜ apart. Just right for a boy from 4 to 14. They are about 2X
to 3X Power. Neck strap, leatherette covering on both eye barrels. Built in
magnetic compass. They come in their original box. We got a few wholesale boxes
of 12, from unsold merchandise at an old dime store distributor that we bought
out. The building was demolished about 20 years ago. It was at the foot of the
Brooklyn Bridge. They had been in business since the early 1950’s. They used to
advertise X-Ray Glasses, Sea Monkeys, Spy Cameras. Etc. in the comic books of
the 1960’s and 70’s era. They gave me a good deal, but the catch was I had to
buy everything they had left. It took a moving truck and then some, but we got
it all in our warehouse in Illinois.
Anyhow, these toy Field Glasses are in Perfect condition in their original box
with typical Graphics of the era. Mostly metal construction. They have a Thumb
adjustment screw for focus adjust. The colorful, graphic box they come in is 3 ¾
by 2 ½ by 1 ½ inches.
