Dating from the mid 19th century, this substantial bronze inkwell is in the manner of Barbedienne. It has a central lift lid well with pineapple finial flanked by pen rests formed as wild beasts to a foliate cast tray. The open rest is in fine vintage condition with good, original patina.
The ink stand measures 34 cm (13 1/2 in) wide by 18 cm (7 in) tall and 14 cm (5 1/2 in) deep. Please contact us with any questions before bidding or buying.
