Vintage 1970’s Beige Momie Weave Drapery/Bedding Fabric | 4.5 yds
Item Description. This fabric
came from a Houston area estate. The previous owner made her own
clothes and window treatments starting in the early 1940’s and continued to do
so until the 1990’s. She also collected fabrics. This fabric is part of that stash.
Content. 100% Cotton
Condition. As new. A 1.75 yds. x 17 in. section has been cut
from one end of the length. The
remaining 2.75 yds. of fabric are the full 49 inches wide.
Color Details. Beige
Textile Type and Design. The
fabric is a complex weave, it believe it is called momie, and it results in a
pebbly surface with statistically random knots of fabric appearing on the
surface. If you grew up in the 1970’s
you knew someone with a bedspread or drapes made out of this material. It is very retro.
Application. This is a medium to heavy weight fabric and
is appropriate for use as upholstery, bedding (bed spreads), drapes, and other
home décor applications.
Total Length. 4.5 yds.
(2.75 49in. wide, 1.75 yds. 32 in. side)
Width. 49 in.
Fabric Weight. Heavy to Medium
Total Weight. 4 lbs.
A note about color reproduction. Color is subjective. Any descriptors used to characterize color
must to taken as a suggestion only, and not as definitive. Color reproduction
is massively difficult and color management in most devices is implemented
poorly. Apple devices handle color reasonably
well. Microsoft Windows devices are all over the place; the same
applies to Android devices. Those with Windows PC’s are
strongly encouraged to enable Windows Color Management and install updated
monitor drivers or download the ICC color space specific to the monitor and
then configure Windows Color Management properly. If you are unsure
how to check or configure, I am willing to assist. Unless a
calibrated monitor is used, I recommend resetting the monitor back to factory
standard configurations. For most flat screen monitors, color
settings should be set to 5000K, daylight, or warm and the brightness setting
should be high. For Android devices, the brightness adjustment
slider should be pushed to the right. Any “night” or “bedtime” view
settings which automatically filter much of the color blue on all platforms
should be disabled. Otherwise, your eyes may be deceiving you,
and, most likely, are!
guaranteed to be as described or your money back!
