VERY RARE Victorian Antique "Nez Pince" SUN Eye Glasses

DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....a complete pair of VERY RARE "NEZ PINCE" antique Victorian SUN glasses. As typical with this style, these are held by and on the nose, without side frames. Simply a metal "spring" steel between the 2 lenses.

Regular NEZ PINCE style glasses are very scarce. They were popular with the upper classes towards the end of the 1800's to the first couple of decades of the 1900's. They were therefore only used for a limited time, by a limited portion of the population. THIS TYPE WAS FAVORED BY PRESIDENTS TEDDY ROOSEVELT AND WOODROW WILSON, and pictures of them wearing them are common.

Many of these hung by a strap around the neck, although some were just kept on by the "pinch". The hole where the strap attached is on the left.

NOTE: THESE ARE FAR RARER THAN MOST AS THEY ARE SUNglasses!!! These are in great condition and both lenses are present and perfect. Frames are an early type of black plastic material.

THESE ARE AS RARE A PAIR AS I HAVE EVER HAD.  Lenses can be changed to your prescription for use, or these can obviously simply become part of your collection or for use with theatrical costumes.

This is the only pair of SUN GLASS NEZ PINCE like this I have ever had....and only the third pair of any type of nez pince glasses I have ever had in many years of collecting !!!  These are from my personal collection.
