On a Line from Valery

Single-sheet broadside poem by Carolyn Kizer. Published by the American Academy of Poets in 1996 in an edition of 500 copies. Designed and printed by Dean Bornstein at The Perpetua Press.

Written in the form of a traditional French villanelle and offering an apocalyptic vision of a grim future wrought by war. A compelling work by Kizer (1925-2014), winner of a Pulitzer Prize in 1985.
