German Panzer I David Doyle A Visual History of the German Army's WWII Early Light Tank

Format: Hardback Publisher: Ampersand Publishing Company, Incorporated, United States

ISBN-13: 9781944367053, 978-1944367053

Clandestinely developed during the post WWI-era during which Germany was forbidden from developing, producing or owning armored combat vehicles, the Panzer I served as a proof of concept. Manufacturers and engineers became acquainted with the creation of modern fully tracked combat vehicles and soldiers were familiarized with the driving, maintenance, logistics entailed by fielding an armored force. Once war began, not only did these experience prove invaluable, the tanks themselves, armed only with twin machine guns, nevertheless proved formidable weapons against ill-prepared enemies. Spread through 168 hardbound pages, over 200 photos document all variations of this, the cornerstone upon which Germany's famed panzer force was built.

Book 2 info,

The Panzer II was Germany's first cannon-armed tank in the post World War I era. Designed and initially produced under the code name of 100-horsepower Farm Tractor, owing to the restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles, the Panzer II remained in production, and in the field, well after it had been surpassed by better engineered, more heavily armed and armored vehicles, and indeed played a key part in the early victories achieved by the Blitzkrieg. Almost 200 scarce wartime photos, illuminated by detailed captions, fill the 168-pages of this hardbound volume.

Book 3 info,

Panzer I and II: The Birth of Hitler's Panzerwaffe Images of War Book WW2 Tank

While the Panzer I and II are not as famous as the German tanks produced later in the Second World War, they played a vital role in Hitler's early blitzkrieg campaigns and in the Nazi rearmament program pursued, at first in secret, by the Nazi regime during the 1930s. Anthony Tucker-Jones's photographic history of their design, development and wartime service is an ideal introduction to them. Both Panzers saw combat during the invasions of Poland and France, the Low Countries and Scandinavia during 1939-40. Although by the time the Wehrmacht invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, the Panzer I had been virtually phased out of service, in the form of self-propelled guns they continued to see combat well into 1943. The Panzer II was also phased out with the panzer regiments in late 1943, yet it remained in action on secondary fronts and, as the self-propelled Marder II antitank gun and Wespe artillery variant, it saw active service with the panzer and panzer grenadier divisions until the end of the war. The Panzer I and II were the precursors of the formidable range of medium and heavy tanks that followed the Panzer III and IV and the Panther and Tiger and this book is a fascinating record of them. AUTHOR: Anthony Tucker-Jones is a former defence intelligence officer and a widely published expert on regional conflicts, counter-terrorism and armoured and aerial warfare. He is the author of over thirty books including Falaise: The Flawed Victory, Operation Dragoon: The Liberation of Southern France 1944, Armoured Warfare on the Eastern Front, Tiger I & Tiger II, T-34: The Red Army's Legendary Medium Tank, The Panther Tank: Hitlers T-34 Killer, The Battle for Budapest 1944-1945 and The Panzer IV: Hitlers Rock. He is security and terrorism correspondent for intersec The Journal of International Security and has freelanced for Channel 4 News. 200 illustrations

Hitler's Light Tanks Rare Photographs from Wartime Archives 9781526741660 book

Hitler's Wehrmacht led the way in armoured warfare as the successful blitzkriegs in Poland and North West Europe in 1940 so convincingly proved. The contribution of light tanks such as Panzers I, II and 35(t) was critical. As the war spread to the Balkans, north Africa and the invasion of Russia, German engineers worked tirelessly modifying existing light tanks and developing new models. The growing Soviet armoured threat, in particular, spawned tank destroyers such as the Marder III Panzerjager, SdKfz 138/1 and 139. Anti-aircraft variants included the Flakpanzer 38(t) and the SdKfz 140/1 was a reconnaissance tank armed with a 20mm turret-mounted gun, developed from the SdKfz 22 armoured car, whereas the Aufklarungerspanzer 38(t) carried a 7.5cm gun in the support reconnaissance role. In the final stages of the war light tanks were phased out and the Marder and 38 (t) were up-gunned; the Wespe was adapted from the Panzer II chassis. This superbly illustrated book gives a comprehensive overview of the multitude of vehicles and variants that came into service. With the text and captions providing technical data, the images show this formidable array of fighting vehicles in action across the theatres of war. AUTHOR: Paul Thomas is an expert on WW2 fighting vehicles and avid collector of contemporary images. His previous books German Halftracks At War 1939-1945, Panzer III at War 1939-1945, Panzer IV at War Hitler's Tank Destroyers and German Reconnaissance and Support Vehicles are in print at the Pen and Sword Images of War Series. 250 b/w illustrations

Book 5 info,

'Hitler's Light Panzers at War' is a highly illustrated record of the German light tank from its beginnings in the 1930s to the key battles it fought in Poland, France, North Africa, Russia and North Western Europe. The book analyses the development of the light Panzer, which ranged from the Panzer I, II and the Czech build Panzer 35 and 38t. It describes how the Germans carefully utilized the development of these light machines for war, and depicts how these tanks were adapted and up-gunned to face the ever-increasing enemy threat. Using 250 rare and unpublished photographs together with detailed captions and accompanying text, Hitler's Light Panzers At War provides a unique insight into the many variants that saw action on the battlefield. It provides a vivid account of light Panzer operational deployment from the early Blitzkrieg campaigns to the final demise of the Nazi war machine. AUTHOR: Paul Thomas is an expert on WW2 fighting vehicles and an avid collector of contemporary images. 255+ b/w images

Book 6 info,

Panzer I and II - 9781526711243 book WW2 German light tank Blitzkrieg 1933-1941

The Panzer I and II played a significant part in the blitzkrieg campaigns that brought Germany such extraordinary success in the early years of the Second World War, and this highly illustrated volume in the TankCraft series is the ideal introduction to them. The Treaty of Versailles forbade Germany to manufacture tanks so the Panzer I had to be developed in strict secrecy, but by the time of the invasion of Poland the Wehrmacht had over 1400 of these light tanks. The Panzer II was an interim design, bridging the gap between the Panzer I and subsequent, far more viable armoured fighting vehicles like the Panzer III and IV. As well as tracing the history of the Panzer I and II, Robert Jackson's book is an excellent source of reference for the modeller, providing details of available kits, together with artworks showing the colour schemes applied to these tanks. Each section of the book is supported by a wealth of wartime photographs as well as diagrams showing the technical changes that were made to these tanks in the course of their careers. AUTHOR: Robert Jackson is the author of over eighty books on military, aviation, naval and scientific subjects. He was defence and science correspondent for a major British newspaper publishing group, and has made a special study of the tanks of the Second World War. 150-200 illustrations

Soft cover with over 64 pages and many black & white & colour photos

Hi First of all, many thanks for the looking.

Discount on postage! Sorry there isn't any - read on.

1) Postal charges go on weight, 'Not how many books are in one box etc' (and books are heavy) And it doesn't matter where in the world you are, France, USA, Australia etc. The prices are the same

2) If you didn't know All postal chargers around the World went up by around 30% in August 2020, due to Covid etc.

And have gone up again 1st Jan 2021, and there isn't anything we can do about it, its all down to them.(And are set to go up again in April 2024)

3) Due to Brexit, on 1st Jan 2021, Vat is going to be added to overseas postal services and export tax (even though books are Vat free here in the UK, this is going to change?)

4) After the 1st Jan, you will also have to pay a tax on receiving anything from the UK (Although We are hoping, by adding a customs for 'lowering the value of books sent', by saying they are worth £20? so you may get away with this?)

If I am honest, Covid and Brexit, are really 'Messing' things up over here (and the rest of the world to)

Hand on Heart, I am now thinking of removing all overseas services from my sales. This will hurt our book sales, but the hassel's it is looking like its going to be, it is just not worth selling overseas anymore? Although we shall wait and see?

So sorry, but right now, we can offer any discount, as due to the above, so please DO NOT ask, as our prices are fixed and have been calulated on Royal Mail International 'Signed For' posting

And before you ask, we will not send them anyother way (Not surface, or any other Postal Company etc)

And also, after ebay/paypal fees etc, it just isn't worth it on our part, we just end up losing out.

So our prices are firm and fixed, and as advertised. So please do not complain to us about our p&p, we don't set these prices, All Postal services do.

Again thanks for looking
