Rare, Early KODAK Antique Photo Album, Fishing Trip Off of California, Police, Military Service & Basic Training, Beach, Etc., c1933, PACKED FULL, 157 PHOTOS!!!

DESCRIPTION: This is a WONDERFUL example of a particularly comprehensive, large, early photo album, absolutely loaded with a variety of photos, primarily highlighting an early tuna/swordfish/shark fishing trip; a large section of photos from an army Basic Training Program (including machine gun photos, pistol practice, and rifle target practice); photos of police officers, possibly state police officers, photos from track & field competitions (associated with the military?); plus various activities such as beach time, etc.

This is a large album, containing 49 black paper pages. Photos are mostly only on one side of each page.  ALBUM IS COMPLETELY FULL, containing 157 very nice period photos. NOT ONLY IS IT FULL, NOT A SINGLE PHOTO IS MISSING OR IS THERE ANY EMPTY SPACES!!! Virtually never found like that. And mostly great outdoor ACTION shots, whether on the fishing trip, in the military training activities, etc. Obviously meant a great deal to the owner and reflected so much of his life.

The album has nice embossed black covers. Has a great embossed gold label on the front, "KODAK LIBRARY". Designed so that additional pages can be added. The album is in very good condition overall, including  binding, covers, pages, and photos. A few of the fishing photos are a bit over-exposed, but the others are very nice. There is an original album label in the back identifying it as an "M. Album, Made by Eastman Kodak".

Photos are mostly 2 1/2" x 3 1/2", with some larger, 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" and even 5" x 7". Large album, measuring 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" x 2" thick.

PARTICULARLY UNUSUAL IS THAT VIRTUALLY ALL PHOTOS ARE IDENTIFIED IN SOME DETAIL BY HAND AND MOST OF THEM ARE DATED. Some of the ID's are on labels, some are handwritten in pen under of photos. The dates shown are all 1933-35.  Appear to be all within that period. The military photos appear to be WWI, but possibly from the 1933 period....equipment and uniforms, etc. would still have been the same as WWI.

Some of the other things mention CoCo Island, near San Francisco Bay, near San Diego Harbor, including Coast Guard harbors and ships, the old S.S. Los Angeles Prison Ship, etc., Cape San Lucas (the southernmost tip of lower Calif.).

You will like this album. It has some of the nicest and most unusual photos/subject/and identification information I have ever seen in any antique photo album. A real special album, covering such activities.  A real variety of situations and photos. AND A VERY RARE, COMPLETELY FULL ALBUM AS WELL !!!!
