Beautiful 15-" tall, handmade cloth, Southern style doll has been made using the designs made from patterns designed by doll artist,

Edith Flack Ackley, circa 1934-40. and exhibits fantastic workmanship and detail.  She has expertly embroidered features including blue eyes, black brows, red nose dots  and lips and long, auburn  yarn hair in twisted 40`s hair style, she has crochet lace on top of her head like a veil? She has long slender arms and legs and is dressed in a rose pink crispy cotton dress with a  lace trimmed petticoat and matching pantaloons   and sewn on brown leather shoes. That she has scuffed from dancing to much ! She has a capelet of light blue wool felt with a matching bonnet 

Guess Grandma, or mom got sick of sewing on closures as the back of the dress closes with straight pins ,Noticed a pin in her front bodice too while the slip /petticoat has 2 tiny white buttons and hand made button holes 

 These dolls were originally designed and sewn either using patterns from Edith Ackley`s book or from a kit advertised in the November 1934 issue of The Woman's Home Companion magazine and is in excellent, clean condition. She has no fading, no stains, damages or odors and is from a smoke free home.
