For sale is this unframed original 1772 London Map titled 'Cripplegate Ward, divided into its parishes, from a late survey'.

It shows Cripplegate ward at the north-west corner of the city of London, running north from Cheapside by way of Wood Street, Milk Street and Aldermanbury, to London wall, St. Giles church and Fore Street, Red Cross Street, White Cross Street, Grub Street (Milton Street), Golden Lane and the Barbican. The map is decorated with a rococo cartouche and an elevation of St. Alban’s in Wood Street. It was published in John Noorthouck’s 'A new history of London including Westminster and Southwark' Other maps in this series were engraved by Thomas Bowen and this would also appear to be his work.

Condition: Excellent. The map is in Excellent condition with only very slight fading of the paper but no foxing. The map is mounted behind card but unframed.
