FEEDBACK / DSR RATINGS

Starting November 2008, anything less than a 5-star rating in any of the DSR feedback categories puts sellers at risk of losing eBay privileges.

According to eBay's criteria for a 4-star rating, the item must be described accurately, communication must be satisfactory, the item must be shipped quickly, and the shipping/handling charges must be reasonable.

Based on this criterion, one would assume that sellers who receive 4-star ratings have done a good job.

In actuality, eBay considers this a sub-standard rating, and penalizes sellers, particularly in the placement of their item listings in buyer searches.
