4 New Year Antique Postcards, EMB, Gold.Angels, Horse Shoe, PUBL:Illustrated

This is a nice selection of NEW YEAR postcards with ANGELS and BIRDS that are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s.  This mixture has the classic New Year motifs such as: CLOCK, BIRDS, SNOWY SCENE, GOOD LUCK CHARMS, etc. The postcards are nicely drawn, and they have good detail that makes them pleasing to look at. These are EMBOSSED, two have GOLD trim in the design, one is HEAVY EMBOSSED, and one is AIR BRUSHED with color.  They were made by the publisher, Illustrated Postal Card, and they have a very nice and classic look to them. 

The publisher of these postcards, Illustrated Postal Card (1904-14; New York, Berlin), was a major publisher of postcards and published in Germany (Leipzig, Saxony).  Besides postcards, they also published fine art cards that were very popular.  The company has a distinctive eagle trademark logo and is considered as one of the “most wanted publishers” by collectors.  They produced many beautiful embossed, heavy embossed (with an extra sheet on the back), and glitter postcards. They were one of the best publishing houses during the “Golden Age of Postcards” (1908-1915 era).    

These are good postcards to add to a collection.  They would appeal to collectors because of their age, their colorful and attractive nature, and the way they capture life back in the early 1900s. Overall, a nice selection of antique New Year postcards at a reasonable price.  

The postcards are UNPOSTED (1) and POSTED (3) with cancel dates in the 1907 era. These postcards would have been "Printed in Germany" during the "Golden Age of Postcards" (1908-1915 era).  One has an UNDIVIDED back.   

These are BETTER POSTCARDS and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value!  They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains and edge wear due to their age. The photos show the postcards and the backs.
