To commemorate the occasion of the 275th Anniversary of the birth of the famous artist Francisco de Goya, the Spanish Royal Mint has issued a series of coins.

On the obverse of this coin is a color reproduction of the work La Cometa (The Kite), painted by Francisco de Goya y Lucientes between 1777 and 1778 and now held at the Prado Museum, Madrid.

On the reverse is a statue of Goya produced by Mariano Benlliure Gil produced in 1902 and situated opposite the Goya Entrance at the Prado Museum.
