Wonderful vintage map by Hammond Incorporated of original print in the New York City Library. This famous 17th century map of Africa was created by Dutch cartographer Guilielmo Blaeuw, also know as William Blair (1571-1638), during the Dutch golden age of mapmaking. Noted for both the exquisite details and decorative features, these atlas maps with human figures around the border were intended to educate folks of lands and cultures of distant lands.
