18th - early 19th Century Replica Wooden Barn Lanterns 


Designed and handcrafted by the seller, this replica 18th - 19th century candle lantern is constructed of clear pine lumber.  Other features include a punched sheet steel heat cover with star burst motif, a removable sheet steel "tin" candle holder that will accommodate a 3/4” diameter candle (not included), four glass pane windows, and an 1 inch wide oiled leather handle.  The wooden components of this lantern are fastened together using hand carved wooden pins.  A stain with an oil and beeswax finish has been applied to the wood surfaces yielding a rich, warm patina.  This lantern is suitable for use during living history events, as rustic lighting, for illuminating your way through a haunted cemetery or during a power outage.  The lantern measures:  5 inches wide x 5 inches deep x 10.5 inches tall (without the leather handle extended).
