Key rings / Key fobs.

These are aircraft  jet engine compressor blades.

They are from Rolls Royce, Pratt and Whitney and General Electric engines.

Each blade has been used in aircraft engine service for various Airline operations.

Some have exceeded over 5 million miles, over 30,000 flight hours, and been “on wing” over 8 years.

The blades were deemed scraped for many reasons :-

~Reached finite life - Time Expired (T.X.)

~Not to the latest modification standard.

~Beyond inspection / repairable manual limits.

~F.O.D

The Airline owner’s representatives had signed these blade as SCRAP for mutilation . Drilling a hole in the aero foil  is classed as mutilation.

Some of the blades have Foreign Object Damage ( F.O.D.) . This could cause a inflight engine shutdown ( much to the distress of both aircrew and passengers alike ).

The blades are manufactured from various superalloy materials examples Titanium, Nickel  Alloy,Hastelloy , Inconel, etc.

Note. Some of the materials are so tough it is impossible to drill even with a Cobalt  drill.  The only possible way to produce a hole is by Spark Erosion  with a  Electrical Discharge Machine (E.D.M.). This is a specialist expensive process.

If it were possible to purchase each individual blade from the manufacturer, they would cost in excess of $650 each.

They can be personalised by polishing / vibrio engraving / names / initials / logos / etc.

As shown in the photographs, there are various sizes blades, depending upon the engine type and the stage of the engine compressor ( the higher the stage number the small the blade and the greater the quantity of blades on that stage). Due to the aerodynamic profile the blade approximate sizes are (mm)

32x20,  35x21,  44x32,  51x27.

These are a rarity, I only have 3 dozen. The source of these blades expired approx 20 years ago, so, the rarity will be retained.

He price of each key ring / key fob is $39USD  / £29 includes p&p.

This appears to be expensive , but, rarity and the high cost of E.D.M the hole reflects the asking price.

I accept the price is high, but the initial cost are high. I do not expect to sell many ( if any) .

Even if I was fortunate to sell just one a month it will take 36 months ( three years ) to extinguish my stock .
