To operate you turn the stack with the button in the off position, then position on the track and switch to on position. This is not a battery operated toy, it is wind up, with the on/off button being the brake. All parts as easy click together parts including the train cars.

Figures are soft, train and track is harder plastic but still easy to clean. Box is damaged but intact.

This is a variant. The figures are not exactly as pictured on the box. Statement on the box is: Item may be slightly different than pictured. In this case, it is. Each figure is slightly different than photographed. Ernie has better hair and his rubber ducky, Big Bird is seated differently, Cookie Monster is seated differently, and Bert doesn’t look so overly concerned about Big Birds driving. I personally like these better.
