Germany WW1 Original 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class.



Original Hungarian Fire Cross, with swords & wreath for 1941 actions. 36mm ide bronze cross pattée with crossed swords between the arms, with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with a circular central medallion inscribed ‘A HAZÁÉRT’ (For the Homeland) within a laurel wreath denoting an award for front-line combatant service, the lower arm dated ‘1941’ (the year of the award of this example); the reverse plain; the suspension ring & original correct trifold ribbon. The Medal was instituted on 21 November 1941 with versions for frontline combatant soldiers, as in this example, for frontline non-combatant soldiers...

Original full size medal. 

Please note the medal has become detached from the ribbon and needs someone better than me to resew the attaching eye to the ribbon. Still displays well nonthelesss.
