Here is something we’ve been working on for what seems like ages here at Docwob, a solution for the pesky 1989 Honda CR250/500 right side fork guard problem, these were a one year deal and there has never been any aftermarket guards made for this one year, one side.
Getting a plastics company to make a guard is hideously expensive so we developed a bracket made from 6061 billet aluminium that slips over the lower tube ( you have to strip the fork back to remove the seal to do it) it uses 2 of the original fork guard mounting holes and takes the readily available 1990/2021 fitment honda fork guard, shown in the pic is our special order grey guards but we can supply with white/ translucent/black or grey guards, the downside is the left hand guard sits 10mm higher and the fork will bottom out 10mm sooner but we feel that is a small price to pay for a solution to a problem hounding the owners of these bikes for decades.
