Christine
Glanville, born Nancy Christine Fletcher (1924-1999) She was one of Gerry
Andersons chief puppeteers and puppet-makers. In addition to her primary role
of lead puppet operator, Glanville was often responsible for the design and
construction of the puppets themselves; productions include Thunderbirds, The
Secret Service, Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet etc..
I
have acquired a body of work by Christine Glanville. A number of drawings and
paintings from around the mid 20th century, together with earlier papers from
the South East Essex and South West Essex art Schools 1940-1942. Many papers
are signed, with various inscriptions. The
last image details part of the whole collection. This listing is for a
single paper only, as detailed below.
Pencil female life drawing, signed and dated 1941. The paper is
in reasonable condition, With age toning, light handling, slightly pencil soiled surface, and other minor marks/blemishes. Condition consistent throughout, so the paper would display well in aged condition.
Paper
measures 21.5cm x 30.7cm.
