UNIQUE AND ORIGINAL WWI SCULPTURE - MOLTEN BRONZE (OR SOME ALLOY OF BRONZE AND SOME OTHER METALS) - STUNNING BRUTALIST LOOKING ART SCULPTURE

I paid for this unique sculpture to be appraised by the professionals (from the most prominent auction houses), here is their conclusion:

"Sculpture is likely made out of molten bronze, once molten runs into a coral-form, one side cut and struck with the years 1914 18, raised on feet added later. 

We think that this object was created by accident during WWI and then found by someone. Apparently this was then elevated to a work of art and kept as a souvenir of the WWI"

Obviously we can only guess or use our imagination about what the original form of this sculpture was, as the list is endless - it might have been an important WWI plane, tank, bridge...Nobody would keep this and mark it if it had no meaning or value...so as I said...the list is endless 

Someone might want to investigate further and possible try to find it in some of the vast archive of pictures from WWI...if someone can connect it to a specific (important) object or a (important) person...that would be a very very interesting achievement and altogether a great project for someone who is a fan of WWI.

The sculpture itself is beautiful and just perfect for a work desk or a cabinet of WWI artifacts...it is just stunning and it is a big conversation starter!

And also, accidentally, its form reminds so much of much modern movements like brutalist, so it would also be a nice complement to any home that has modern design as main theme.

It seems to be made out of bronze (or some alloy of bronze), magnet sticks to it (not very strong, but it sticks), but it does not stick to the three legs that where clearly added later.

Very heavy for its size!

There seems to be one drilled hole with no function (My guess is to put in a small flag pole).

Overall, considered how old it is (more then 100 years old) - it is in a great condition - all exactly as you can see in the pictures!

As you can see I like to be really real and transparent about all of the items specifics so you can always know exactly what you are buying.
