This is an antique example of JIU-JITSU - Japanese Feats of Attack and Defense in Personal Encounter, a heavily illustrated 5—¼ x 8-¾ inch, 64-page book on the science of Jiu-Jitsu. It was printed in the USA by Johnson Smith & Co. of Racine, Wisconsin and has a copyright date of 1935.
The second half of the book is the Supplementary Catalogue of Surprising Novelties, Puzzles, Tricks, Joke Goods, Useful Articles, etc.. This section looks like it has 64 or more pages but they are unnumbered. Articles advertised are crystal radio sets, keyless locks, automatic pistol cigarette cases, cream extractors, dancing skeletons, change purses, reptiles, revolving date stamps, comic celluloid buttons, novelty punch cards, good luck rings, solar telescopes, as well as instruction booklets on wrestling, swimming, magic tricks, trapping, pigeons and songbirds, growing roses, playing the harmonica, tap dancing, ventriloquism and much more.
Our pictures show the actual heavily illustrated 89 year old softcover publication offered for sale. It is in nice used condition with some damage to the spine. No odor.
