Description

Here is a really fabulous victorian rare james fenton, solid silver  locket & book chain collar necklace. This necklace is absolutely fabulous & i have never seen an example complete from this renowned maker & i have also never seen this design before so quite unique. The chain measures seventeen & a half inches long including the bolt ring with a width of over half inch and is all made of solid silver. This collar is quite fabulous with lovely unusual shaped discs which have the most exquisite early engravings chasings in flowers etc in lovely detail & then it comes complete with its large origional bolt ring working well & is not marked for silver but is tested & guarranteed as such, but the locket is fully hallmarked. The locket measures one & a quarter inches by one & threequarter inches excluding the bail & is a typical victorian large collar locket & This locket looks to be the match for the chain &  is really lovely with its quality early engravings, chasings to the front of the locket in a diagnol style with flowers & other ornate detail & it has  its large origional  bail for attatching to the chain which also has the lion passant and the locket opens to put photos in either side & still has all its innards as well as some hair in it, so could take pics & other keepsakes and nicely clicks tightly shut and it has full set of english hallmarks for Birmingham, silver & 1891 and makers mark of J.F, for James Fenton, who was a renowned top quality maker of high quality  jewellery who made pieces like this that were retailed at libertys & high end retailers and this piece really is typical of his workmanship and as with age there is just wear as you would expect but certainly nothing that detracts this is just mentioned for total accuracy, & the links do cross over at times but are easily put back in place see pics & just needs a good polish. This really is a beautiful victorian collar locket & chain in very good origional complete condition that looks fabulous worn today as when it was first made from a top quality renownedmaker and a very fine quality rare example that are getting very hard to source today. Please note for overseas it will go by courier.
