Stunning museum-quality antique wooden picture frame featuring dense Art Nouveau ivy foliate and banded strap-work decoration.

Exceptional quality, beautiful early Tiffany-era style and craftsmanship. Frame is late 19th century, 1880 - 1890.

Condition is as shown in listing photographs: some damage to edges, corners, compo decoration, giltwood discoloration, and old repairs. Otherwise, overall structural integrity is very good. Some paper residue, hardware holes and fasteners, and illegible graphite pencil notes on reverse. Buyers are encouraged to examine photos carefully, and are invited to ask questions for clarity. Frame is an excellent restoration candidate.

Approximate measurements: outer frame is 21 ¼ x 18 ¼ x 1 ¾ inches; rabbet is 15 ½" x 12 ½ inches; visible aperture is 15 x 12 inches.

In closing, this is one of the best, most elegant picture frame I have seen outside of a museum; certainly worthy of hanging in the most prestigious of art institutions. Just stunning!
