To find specs of your machine:

If machine is working:
Go to your apple menu, Select "About this Mac". You will find the serial number and year of machine in this window

If machine is not working:
Look at your logic board directly, on the port where the memory is seated you should see your serial and or 4 digit EMC#

You can then enter this into the search field at the everymac website which will tell you the complete specs on your system.
