Superb example of an early 20th Century Chinese Nichols Carpet.

Made in China around 1920, this incredible carpet measures 275 x 184 cm

On a sky blue background with corner floral motifs of Chinese flowers cascading towards the center and a light border.

The pile is 100% present and approx 3 cm thick. The overall carpet is incredibly heavy.

Nichols carpets are works of art, hand made and increasingly rare to source.

This amazing carpet is in superb condition. It has been lightly cleaned with a home cleaner. It would benefit from a professional clean but also is pretty good as is.

There are a few minor marks but nothing drastic. I'm not sure if it originally had tassels, but the fringe is in overall good condition with only some minor wear. For 100 years old and from a bygone period of decadence, this beautiful piece is outstanding and will look superb in almost any setting.

Collection recommended:

Collection is available from PL3 4TG, Plymouth, Southwest Devon, and you are welcome to collect in person or arrange your own courier and I will be happy to arrange assistance with loading with fair due notice of at least 2 to 3 days within normal business hours.

Delivery:

Prior to purchase and before arranging delivery please ensure that the item will fit through any entrance and the room where it will be going. If delivery is attempted and not possible you will be responsible for return delivery costs and any other reasonable additional costs.

Delivery would be by a third party independent courier that I would pay for on collection. The payment for delivery is for uk mainland only, outside these areas will incur extra charges ie Wales and Scotland.

All deliveries are a one person service, so would require assistance to unload heavy, large or awkward items.

Should a two person delivery be required, please advise and I can obtain a quote on your behalf.

Please be aware couriers would normally deliver to ground floor locations only, should you require the courier to deliver up or downstairs, please make this clear when requesting a quote. This also includes if delivering to new build housing estates as the courier would not be expected to carry anything for a long distance.
