Lindsay Dawson (1959-): born in Palo Alto, California and raised in Portola Valley, California. His interest in art started very early, and his talent and individuality eventually led him to Art Center College of Design. At Art Center he fell under the spell of the great masters, but especially the Impressionists. Monet, Pierre Bonnard, Gustav Klimt, and Joaquin Sorrolla influenced Dawson, and made him aware of the need to push his work in a unique direction, one of mood and emotion. After Art Center, and being from a "practical" family, he went into commercial art, and became a well-known artist in the movie and animation industry, working for such clients as NBC, Universal Studios, 7-UP, and Filmation Studios. Well over two decades after embarking on his artistic journey, Lindsay Dawson continues his quest for the "elusive charm of great paintings", pushing his paintings into new and exciting territory.
