This is a wonderfully degraded Antique Wood Buddha Figure from Thailand / Southeast Asia.  This U-Thong styled piece was purchased in Bangkok in the early 1970's by my father who was an antique dealer in Penang, Malaysia at the time.  Based on my experience & knowledge of these type of Buddha figures, I estimate this item dates to well before the Turn of the Century.    

Please review the pictures closely in regards to the condition of this Buddha figure.  The figure was most likely severely damaged due to insect / water damage.  Please note Picture #18 & #19 that show the glue residue visible on the metal post.  

Buddha Dimensions: 3 inches wide at the base & 6 1/4 inches high with a depth of 2 3/8 inches.  Wood Base Height: 1/2 inch.  Weight: 4.7 ounces (134 grams).  

This fragile item will be packed carefully in a larger box with styrofoam peanuts to avoid any damage in transit.
