This French portrait of a young noble was made in 1900 by G. Gager. It is personalized on the back with: A mon frere souvenir affectueux (to my brother affectionate souvenir). It is not clear who the young noble is. The piece is matted in original purple velvet and housed in the original frame. The front is dated ( 1900)and the front is also signed by the artist. The piece has some signs of its 120 plus years life: the velvet is worn and the frame has some blemishes on three corners and one on the side. A true heirloom for an affectionate brother!
Measurements are: frame: 9 1/2" by 7 3/4" and 5/8" deep.
