Of unknown date, but made from composite stone, a figural plaque in the classical style being the representation of a Greek philosopher/scholar

The head and tail of this plaque are decorated with the Greek key design

There are some letters from the Greek alphabet inscribed in a vertical fashion on the left hand side as I have attempted to show

The philosopher/scholar is dressed in the traditional antique Greek chiton and holds a scroll in one hand

I assume that historically this item was placed in a niche in a wall. It shows evidence of having being outside for some time as there is evidence of weathering

There is a hanging hoop to the rear should there be a desire to hang this item on a wall, but I cannot guarantee that the hoop is strong enough to suspend this item as it weighs 3.5Kg

The easel shown in the photographs is not included in the sale

A lovely decorative piece for inside or outside the home
