Hamburg American Line: A rare and unusual relic from long ago - a Hamburg American Line soup plate marked with the HAPAG logo and "Unteroffiziere".

According to Mr. Google, "unteroffiziere" means either noncommissioned officer or junior officer. This 9.25" diameter soup plate would have been used in the junior officers' mess. It is back-marked Fraureuth, a Germany china company known for its fine quality that went out of business in 1926.

Very good condition with light wear to the logo.
