17th Century Italian Tuscan Marbled Slipware Costrel / Pilgrim Flask c. 1600-80 

This is a very rare Italian / Tuscan marbled slipware costrel, circa 1600 - 1680. Mounted with lion mask lugs.

This type of bottle has been found in excavations in the city of London & in Jamestown, the first English settlement in America.

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
