“Von Ryan’s Express,” better known as Nolan Ryan, is the greatest fireballer in Major League Baseball history. For an astonishing 27 seasons, Lynn Nolan Ryan threw nothing but heat, striking out 5,714 Major League batters, by far the most in history. He was a winner, too, with 319 pitching victories, a Major League record 7 no-hitters, and a 3.19 career ERA, outstanding for any era. Ryan won a World Series championship and pitched in eight All-Star games and had his number retired by three different franchises. Ryan was a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 1999, with a near-unanimous 98.9% of the vote.  This jersey is not only tinged with Ryan’s greatness, but a heavy dose of 1970’s cool. The Astros’ orange-rainbow jersey was designed by Medalist Sand Knit in the late 1970s, and there’s never been a jersey like it - before or since. This is a Cooperstown Collection jersey with a 1986 All-Star patch on the left sleeve and an Astros All-Star patch on the right sleeve. Wear this jersey, and you’ll feel like chucking a bunch of pitches from the pitching mound.
