RARE Tip and Mitten 1957 by Houghton Mifflin with Library Hard Tan Cloth Covers

This is a copyright 1949, 1957 revised edition of Houghton Mifflin's Tip and Mitten.  It is part of the Reading For Meaning Series.  It is the second pre-primer with a 45 word vocabulary.  Great for young beginning readers!!   It is 8 1/4" x 6 1/4" and has a library hard cover over the book's cover.  It is 64 pages long and  tells the adventures of Jack, Janet, their dog, Tip, and their cat, Mitten.  The full color illustrations by Violet LaMont are charming.

This book is in fair to good condition.  The covers are tan cloth hard covers with black pictorial & lettering.  They have minor wear at the corners and spine ends and very minor soiling.  The binding is sound.  The pages are off white with no fold overs.  The majority of the book's pages are in very good condition:  Pages 10-41 and 47- 63 have no writing, tears or folds,  and very few smudges.   Page  3/4 and page 5/6 had tears that were taped with archival tape.  Pages 2-9 have circles in brown marker around the small photos of the speaker.  They also have some small stains.  Pages 42-46 have lines drawn between the objects. There is writing on p. 64 and a mark on its facing page.  Please look at the seven photos.
