Antique oak apothecary Wabash Rival Letter File cabinet with 9 drawers, made by Rockwell & Rupel Co. in Chicago, Illinois in the early 1900s.

Solid wood - oak.

All original, has 9 drawers, missing one label holder on one drawer.

Drawers are dovetailed, one is finger joinery. (see photos 9, 10, 11). Drawers are all the same size, same brand. Drawers are fitted with file holder clips. This is the Wabash-Rival Letter File system (see photos of insides of drawers with paper labels, and last two photos with closeups).

Drawer fronts are 12 1/2" x 4 1/2".

Cabinet is 39 1/2" long x 14 3/4" tall x 15 11/16" front to back at the bottom trim piece, 15 3/8" front to back at the edge.

In very good original vintage antique condition; all original - finish, handles/ label holders, file holder clips inside drawers. This is over 100 years old and shows signs of age, wear and use as expected, but is ready to use. It is sturdy and well built. File drawers open /close as they should. Cabinet is finished on front and both sides, top and bottom are not finished, as this is designed to be modular and stack with other cabinet sections. It can either be added to your existing cabinet parts, or a base and top can be created to give this cabinet new life and a new use.

Local pickup is preferred, due to the weight of this cabinet. Cabinet with drawers weighs 65 lbs, unboxed.

However, if the buyer wishes, we will pack and ship it - the shipping cost will reflect the size and weight and sturdy double or triple boxing, as well as insurance.
