Vintage Wooden Shoe shine Box, Shoe Polisher Chest with stool, 1950's Istanbul Memories, Rustic Chest Shoe Shine Box

This is an amazing and rare find: a gorgeous wooden shoe polisher chest estimated to be from the 1950's.
These days you don't see many shoe polisher's on the streets of Turkey but until about 15 years ago many men (and some women) made their living on the streets by polishing shoes.

We found this treasure here in Turkey, it needed some tender loving care to bring back the shine of the brass. These boxes are even here in Turkey hard to find.
The metal and wood work are all handmade with brass and solid wood making it pretty heavy (imagine having to carry it every day back and fro home to the streets!), the front has beautiful decorations. It has a gorgeous genuine aged and patina look, it shows clear marks of use and time, chipped off paint, patina and just history of the many years.
The drawers have still original materials, sponges, shoe polishes etc.
Will come with its cute original stool.

This chest would look great on display in your home, would be an amazing prop for a shoe store and would be an amazing gift for collectors of interesting finds.

A great display piece.
This piece is from Turkey and has been used frequently, but was well taken care of, the brass is only a thin layer outside as decoration. It has loads of rustic details making it very charming and beautiful.
NO mold or smell.

It is 24'' (61 cm) wide and 10 1/2'' (27 cm) high and 6 1/4'' (16 cm) deep. It is heavy, made of solid wood.
