5 Colorful Statue of Liberty Antique & Vintage Patriotic Postcards. Unposted

This is a very nice group of PATRIOTIC antique and vintage postcards from the very early 1900s.  They were published for GREETINGS and could have been used for Fourth Of July Celebrations.  The postcards show different scenes of the STATUE OF LIBERTY.  Some of these are very beautiful with sunsets. A couple are night scenes.  The postcards are flat printed.

The postcards have nice patriotic messages. These are collector items because of their age, their colorful design, and their overall appeal to those collecting Patriotic antique postcards.

"The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886.  It was designated as a National Monument in 1924.  Employees of the National Park Service have been caring for the colossal copper statue since 1933.  The statue is a figure of Libertas, the Roman Goddess of Liberty. She holds a torch above her head with her right hand, and in her left hand carries a tabula ansata inscribed JULY IV MDCCLXXVI (July 4, 1776 in Roman numerals), the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. A broken chain and shackle lie at her feet as she walks forward, commemorating the national abolition of slavery following the American Civil War.  After its dedication, the statue became an icon of freedom and of the United States, seen as a symbol of welcome to immigrants arriving by sea. The postcards are UNPOSTED and would have been published in the 1910s-1920's.  They have DIVIDED backs. These postcards were probably "Made in USA".

These are BETTER POSTCARD and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value!  They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains and edge wear due to their age. The photos show the postcards and the backs.

The postcards are shipped in a sturdy envelope.  We only ship within the USA; we do not ship internationally.  USA shipping is with tracking, and we use eBay Standard Envelope mail when the value is under $20 and the weight is under 3 oz; and, we use USPS First Class mail when the value is over $20 or the weight is over 3 oz.  We combine shipping whenever possible.  If you purchase multiple lots, you can wait and we will send you an invoice for the combined shipping before you pay.  In case you have already paid for the lots, we will still combine the shipment and refund you any extra shipping charges back to your account.
